• Make arrangements for mail, telephone service, newspaper delivery, cable and internet service.
• Wedge dowels in sliding glass doors and window tracks for security.
• Put light timers on (if you don't have shutters).
• Unplug appliances EXCEPT the refridgerator.
• Cover drains and seal toilets.
• Ask a friend or neighbor to check on your house every couple weeks. Make sure someone local has a key.
